Songwriter Reeveal, a survivor of domestic violence has written a song that is touching souls around the world. The song is titled “WAKE UP WORLD” and sung by Leah Smith of the group Israel and New Breed. The proceeds from the sale of each CD benefit various Domestic Violence Charities. Entree’d is supporting this initiative and we encourage you to do the same. Remember, we have to be the change we want to see in the world. Together let’s put a silence on domestic violence. REAL HOUSEWIVES ARE GOOD FOR BUSINESS

Over the last two weeks Entree’d published a business review of the ventures of three cast members of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. I have received numerous emails inquiring about how to start a domestic violence intervention agency. Many woman were inspired by watching NeNe Leakes of the Real Housewives of Atlanta start the Twisted Hearts Foundation. I was able to do a little research and have some statistical information along with resources for people interested in starting their very own organization.
Here a some startling statistics:
- Every 7 seconds a woman is beaten is the United States
- 1 out of 4 woman are abused by an intimate partner
- 2 – 4 million woman per year are victims of domestic violence
- Every year approximately 4,000 woman are killed as a result of domestic violence
- 30,000 ER visits and 40,000 physician visits per year are attributed to Domestic Violence
- More than half of young men convicted of murder are incarcerated for killing their mother’s abuser
The statistics are clear that Domestic Violence cost our society far more than we can afford to pay. If you are an aspiring entrepreneur and compelled by the cause of domestic violence than a non profit agency may be for you. Non profit agencies are established with a purpose to provide social services without the focus of turning a profit. The agencies are funded by donations, grants, endowments and sometimes other charitable organizations. The US code classifies non profits as a 501(c)3 which bears tax exempt status.

YOUR BLOG NEEDS A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER

Are you monetizing your blog? Do you plan to build successful affiliate relationships? Do you want all of those companies to have your personal social security number? Of course not, the alternative is an Employer Identification Number (EIN) which is likened to a Social Security Number for a business. Many people starting out in the world of entrepreneurship rush in and put everything in their own name. The problem with having everything in your personal name is it makes you more susceptible to identity theft. The Internal Revenue Service codes allows all business types the opportunity to obtain an EIN Number even if you don’t have any employees. Many people are afraid to obtain an EIN number because they fear paying additional taxes on their earned income. They forget that the businesses expenses are deductible from the businesses income. However, if you are building your blog and beginning to bring the checks in than you may consider obtaining one as soon as possible.
If you are just starting out with your blog or business and want to test the waters before you dive in. There is a poor man’s way to get your business filed with your state and obtain and EIN Number. It is important to consult an attorney and a tax professional before doing this so that you will have know how this can impact on your specific situation.
1. File for a Fictitious Name Filing with your Secretary of State or Division of Corporations. You may want to use your Domain name or another name that you plan to incorporate with later. It is important to know that a Fictions Name filing does not provide you with exclusive use of your business name.

2. Upon receipt of your fictitious name filing go the IRS website and follow the EIN assistant and obtain a number immediately.

3. Establish a bank account in the name of the business even if it is a sole proprietorship for proper accounting for the business.
4. Update your payee information with every advertiser and publisher that you have signed up with so that your social security number is no longer in their system.
This is the absolute easiest way to establish your blog as a business. You also be able to utilize the same number for any additional blogs that you may start. Remember, this should only be used as a tool to get your business off the ground. As your further your undertakings you will want to consult legal counsel and a CPA. FEAR GOT IT’S ASS KICKED!

Fear just got a real good kick in the ass. Fear not only took a beating, fear got handled, fear was defeated. Fear deserved it, because its deceitful, fear manipulates us, fear drives us to oppose truth. Fear lies to us, lies to us about ourselves, about our nation, about the world. Fear uses his children named Terrorism, Sexism and Racism. They act as catalyst to divide and conquer. Fear is what drove George W. Bush’s second term. He counted on our fear of the word terrorist to get him re-elected. Don’t get me wrong that’s also what the terrorist counted on. Terrorism is an act to cause a crisis of fear. Fear drives bad decision making. On the evening of November 4, 2008 fear was defeated when Mr. Obama became Mr. President. That doesn’t mean fear will go away, it will always test us. However, if we become seekers of truth and justice they won’t have much reign over our lives. If you listen closely to Mr. President’s election night victory speech he stated that “A wall came down in Berlin”. The Berlin Wall is significant because it signified a shift in one country’s operation of fear. No longer was one nation divided by a wall. No longer was one group deprived of liberties available to those whose lives had the same value. That is what happened when America elected President Obama. This signified a change in the way fear is disseminated. The world will never be the same. We have Officially entered a new era. An era of truth where fear holds no clout, no home and most importantly no cabinet position in the Obama Administration. So the next time fear calls any of us especially at 3am and tells us what we can’t do. We will respond “YES WE CAN“!

As we head towards one of the most anticipated presidential elections of our lifetimes. Many Americans have become emotionally engaged in the political process like never before. This comes along with the fact the world as we know it has changed seemingly overnight. Every major enterprise for the exception of energy is experiencing economic disparity. Now that the world has changed they way we do business must change with it. In the mist of the sea of financial storms, war and poverty a leader has arisen.A brilliant, young, charismatic, intelligent political underdog has become a front runner set to be the next leader of the free world. There is certainly a lesson to be learned. Here are the eight essential lessons that I learned from the Obama Campaign.
1. YOUR TEAM
Build a team of experienced professionals. Professionals who have a depth of knowledge regarding your product or service. Your team should also have a broad understanding of the size and scope of your market. Even if your business will only be concentrated to one market your team should know how your business could impact on the entire world.
2. YOUR SLOGAN
Create a Slogan using words that identify with what your customer wants. Like Change, Hope and Believe. Don’t use words that identify only with how you see yourself, stay focused on your customer.
3. CREATE A BUZZ.
When you want to introduce your business to world. Start small. Conduct test marketing. Go into places like small town America and see how they like your product or service. Then allow the feedback they provide you with to set the standard on how you market to a larger demographic.
